PERFORMANCE INTELLIGENCE / BIOMARKERS

The Numbers Your GP Never Checked

A standard blood panel tells you whether you are sick. A performance blood panel tells you whether you are performing at your potential. These are entirely different questions, and they require entirely different tests.

THE LIMIT OF STANDARD TESTING

Most high-performing men have had a blood test.

Most of them have been told everything is fine.

And most of them are still experiencing the fatigue, the body composition shift, and the performance decline that fine is supposed to rule out.

Here is why.

A standard GP blood panel is designed to identify clinical illness. It flags you when something is wrong enough to require medical intervention. It was never designed and is not calibrated to tell a high-performing man whether his biology is functioning at the level his career and ambitions demand.

That is an entirely different question. And it requires an entirely different panel.

THE PERFORMANCE PANEL

What we test and why each marker matters

Hormonal health

Testosterone (total and free), SHBG, oestradiol, LH, FSH, prolactin. Not just whether you are in the clinical range, but whether you are optimised for a man operating under sustained professional pressure. Free testosterone and SHBG are rarely included in a standard panel, yet total testosterone without these two numbers tells you almost nothing about what is actually biologically available.

Stress and adrenal function

Cortisol (morning), DHEA-S. The most important category for this demographic and the most consistently missed. Chronically elevated cortisol is the upstream driver of visceral fat accumulation, testosterone suppression, sleep disruption, and the performance decline that most men attribute to age or workload.

Thyroid function

TSH, Free T3, Free T4. Governing metabolism, energy production, cognitive function, and mood. Sitting below optimal without triggering a clinical flag in the majority of fatigued high-performing men we test.

Metabolic health

Fasting insulin, HbA1c, fasting glucose. What is actually driving blood glucose stability, energy consistency, and body composition at a cellular level. The metabolic picture most men have never seen outside of a diabetes screen.

Inflammation

High sensitivity CRP, homocysteine. The silent load compounding across years of high output. Impairing cognitive performance, slowing recovery, and increasing cardiovascular risk without a single obvious symptom until it becomes something clinical.

Vitamin D and mineral status

Vitamin D at 25-OH, magnesium, iron, ferritin, zinc, B12, folate. The deficiencies silently affecting mood, cognition, immune function, physical output, and hormonal health are present in the majority of high-performing men we test, almost never flagged by a standard panel.

Cardiovascular health

Full lipid profile including ApoB. The most precise cardiovascular risk marker available is significantly more informative than standard cholesterol and almost never included in a routine screen.

Organ function

Liver markers, kidney markers. Confirming the system is functioning and recovering properly under training load and lifestyle demands.

Full blood count

Oxygen-carrying capacity, immune resilience, and recovery potential.

INTERPRETATION MATTERS

What the results tell us

Every result is reviewed in context, not handed to you as a number with a reference range attached. What it means for your energy, your training, your recovery, and the specific interventions we build around it.

Because a number without interpretation is not information.

It is data.

The interpretation is where the system begins.

Understand your complete biological picture.
